The 2024 Season Begins
Our 2024 season officially began this past weekend and we are excited for the adventures in store. A mild winter has allowed us to be out enjoying the rivers this month, particularly this past week. It’s a quiet and serene time on the water, and the trout are still in their winter haunts. Grilled burgers and brats on the riverbank are an idyllic treat that we aren’t often able to enjoy in February.
The traffic is sure to increase with drift boats being paraded through town, but is currently minimal to non-existent on the water. We have been primarily floating the middle Blackfoot and middle and lower Bitterroot, with guides expanding out to explore other pieces of the puzzle as we ramp up into March. Missoula is certainly still in winters grasp and the majority of the action has been subsurface, accompanied by head hunting in the afternoons to fish rising on midges. The current size 20 dry fly action is a tease for the skwala hatch to come, and we are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the big bugs.
We have availability this spring at our discounted rates and would love to share the water with you. Please give us a call or send an email for more information.
